Laboratory Equipments in TPCPLC

Twiga Cement has equipped with all sophisticated laboratory equipment’s and skilled experienced personnel:

  • Modern X-Ray fluorescence (XRF) to determine major and minor oxide in clinker, cement and raw materials such as limestone sand and other additives.
  • X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) system to accomplish chemical phase analysis for more complete characterization of the sample. Clinker phase characterization or the sample. Clinker phase analysis ensures consistent clinker quality. X –Ray diffraction (XRD) system which has the capability of measuring quartz in raw meal, free lime (CaCo3) in cement.
  • Twiga Cement is also equipped with carbon-sulfur Determinator (Leco) to analyze calcite (CACO3) and Sulphur (SO3) content in cement and particles size distribution
  • Mastersizer - 3000 for particle size analysis to optimize and enhance further cement quality.

Twiga Cement's Quality Control

Clinker quality depends on raw material composition, which has to be closely monitored to ensure the cement. Twiga Cement has two automated raw mix controls

  • Cross belt Analyzers based on Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation (PGNAA) technology installed direct on the conveyor belt measuring the entire material stream continuously in real time to troubleshot issues in raw mix proportioning control
  • The cross belt analyzer with raw mix blend expert (RAMOS) is controlling raw mix to produce consistence quality of clinker and so high and consistent quality cement.
