At Twiga Cement advancing sustainability and operational excellence is central to how we are shaping the future of cement production. One key example comes from our energy transition journey, where renewable power is becoming an essential part of how we operate responsibly and efficiently.

Cement manufacturing has always been energy intensive, but today, innovation allows us to actively reduce our environmental footprint while strengthening reliability and performance across our operations.

The introduction of our solar power system marks a step-change in how we integrate clean energy into production, reducing reliance on fossil fuels while improving the sustainability of every ton of cement produced.

With an installed capacity of 15 MWp (12 MWac), our solar system delivers up to 12 MW of usable clean power at peak, directly feeding into our operations. This enables us to progressively shift toward cleaner energy sources without compromising operational stability.

The system is expected to generate approximately 26,500 MWh of clean energy annually, helping to offset around 684 tons of CO₂ emissions every year. With a 15% capacity factor, it ensures consistent, reliable energy supply throughout the year, supporting more efficient and sustainable production.

Beyond energy, this is about progress. A practical demonstration of how innovation and renewable integration can drive both operational resilience and meaningful environmental impact across our value chain.
